Product Description
Simply the Paste
The ARCTIC MX-6 is a carbon filler-based thermal paste and reaches its maximum performance without burn-in, directly after application and distribution. It achieves all of this without any reputed ingredients, such as expensive diamond dust or various precious metal particles. The silicone gel used as a carrier enables optimal distribution, which is achieved through even contact pressure, for example when mounting the heat sink.

20 % better performanceWith its improved composition, the ARCTIC MX-6 has a measurably lower thermal resistance than the MX-4. The basis for calculation is the temperature difference between the cooler base and the heat source (in C) in relation to the applied heat load (in W), which also results in the unit C/W. The higher the thermal resistance, the worse the heat can be transferred through the TIM layer. Thermal insulators, as an example, therefore always have a particularly high thermal resistance, while thermal interface materials usually have a particularly low one. |
Proven qualityWe are proud of our thermal pastes. With over 20 years of experience in the PC cooling market the MX-6 was developed with the goal to offer a first-class product. The optimized formula is based on the proven MX-4, one of the best-selling thermal pastes in the world. The focus was on versatile application possibilities and an easy-to-use consistency. |
Versatile range of applicationsWith its new composition, MX-6 is the suitable thermal compound for many application scenarios. Excellent non-drying and non-bleeding properties ensure consistent long-term performance. Its viscosity prevents leakage due to the pump-out effect. It’s also suitable for direct-die cooling scenarios which occur, for example, with graphics cards or console processor GPUs. |

Often copied, but never equaledARCTIC’s thermal pastes have always been one of the most popular products on the TIM market. To be able to ensure that a paste has been produced and filled under ARCTIC regulations and thus meets our high quality standards, we have the ARCTIC Authenticity Check. This means that every product can be reliably verified so that our customers are always on the safe side. |
Easy applicationMX-6 is neither electrically conductive nor capacitive. This eliminates the risk of short circuits or discharges, which can cause serious damage to components if care is not taken. The thermal paste is also free of liquid metal components, which can often lead to discoloration, abrasion or corrosion damage to the radiator bottom. |
Available in several versionsARCTIC MX-6 is available in package sizes from 2 to 8 grams. Resealable syringes prevent the paste from drying out and facilitate dispensing. Alternatively, the variants with MX Cleaner are available. These enable simple and residue-free cleaning of the contact surfaces. The cleaner consists of 100% Limonene, a natural substance obtained from citrus essential oil. |

MX-6Around ~2c cooler than Noctua’s paste, although it was harder to spread.

Improvement on the MX-4 I had previously used the MX-4 with a Pure Rock on a Ryzen 5 5600X. The MX-6 gets 2-4°C more out of it. Before that, the CPU got hot up to 75°C under full load, now only up to 72°C. It is very tough compared to the MX-4, which makes it a little harder to pass. Absolutely recommended for the price.

I’ve always used noctuaAfter years of using noctua thermal paste, I tried a change and I must say it’s a great paste! I use it with a nzxt Kraken 53 liquid cooler and it holds the ryzen 5600g at a few degrees less than the noctua h2. So great paste very easy to apply.

Easy Application and Extremely EffectiveMy Dell Lattitude E5570 was running hot under workload, quickly exceeding 210 degF when editing video, which caused me to stop. Cleaning the fan and fins didn’t help.I cleaned the old paste off and applied MX-6. The temperatures do not exceed 192 degF now. GPU temperatures are also cooler now.

It works!Just put it on my i7-3770 and its keeping the temps between 40-50c and no more than 73c on and heavy HEAVY load, so im pretty please with the product (keep in mind i have a stock cooler, sadly they don’t make other models for this motherboard)

Good, but Arctic Silver 5 Did Almost as WellI tested the MX6 against the tried and true Arctic Silver 5, and there was no statistical difference in temps. I posted the results over at HARDOCP forums. Here are the results:Not too surprising, AC5 did really well, although the MX-6 is better. However, it was about a 1C difference between the two at idle and max heat for all tests.TEST SET UPCASE: Thermaltake The Tower 100 (One fan, which was the radiator fan)Cooling: Enermax 120 AIO with the included Enermax 120 SQu 2200RPM fan. No other case fans.CPU: Late Gen 3600 fresh from AMD (12/2022)TEST PARAMETERS-I took a ambient reading using a laser probe about 2 feet from the computer on the table. It registered 21.8. I took several reading throughout the tests and they varied by 0.2 C. You can do your own math to set temp at zero in order to get temps over ambient.-I used HWiNFO64for the numbers. I used max and min heat readings.-Prime 95 on max heat setting-After each max heat run, I let the PC idle until the lowest temp was reached. I shut down all foreground programs, such as browsers, streaming programs, and file explorers.-Paste application was the same for both pastes. Checked after each run to ensure complete coverage on heat spreader.-MAX Heat was tested with fan and pump at max-Idle Temps were taken with fan and pump at 100% and then at what is silent for me, which is fan 50% 1200RPM and pump 66% 2200RPMPASTE TEMP DIFFERENTIALThere was about a 1.5C difference in favor of the MX-6 paste.PROBLEMS WITH TESTTest configuration never really gets really hot and either paste may perform worse of better as temps increase beyond what I tested. Also, the difference in this test did not show any statistically convincing difference, even though the max and min temps both showed about a 1C to 1.5C difference in favor of MX-6.
