Carbonaut Thermal Pad

Thermopad Thermal Grizzly – Thermal Pad Carbonaut

General information

Thermal Grizzly Carbonaut high-tech carbon thermal pads can be used as an excellent alternative to mid-range thermal compounds. They have the exclusive advantage of being reusable, with a very elastic and adaptable surface and very high thermal conductivity. Even the slightest unevenness can be compensated very well. Its special developed polymer results in its flexibility and its soft ‘gap filler’ properties. The carbon fiber structure ensures excellent thermal conductivity. Note: Carbonaut is electrically conductive! Make sure there’s no contact beetween thermal pad and transistors or transformers!

Compatibility

  • PS3, PS4, PS5
  • Xbox 360, One Series S and Series X
  • Perfect for dissipating heat from your Macbook.
  • Computer components such as CPU, GPU, motherboard chipset and memory modules.
  • Any other component that uses a metal housing as a heat sink.
  • Available in different sizes.

Fantastic product. I’ve marked it 5 out of 5 for adhesion, although it does not adhere at all. As long as you mount it with the heat sink horizontal, there is no problem. If you wanted to do it outside in a breeze or in front of a fan, you may have more problems. Two convenient sizes, one (smaller) Intel core size and the other (larger) AMD size.Ultimately temps may not be quite as good as the very best thermal paste, but it’s a lot less messy and is re-usable. I’ve used both in SFF PCs – one an Alienware X51 R3 with liquid cooling with core I7-6700K, and one in a Silverstone RVZ03 case with AMD Ryzen 7-3700x and Noctua NH65 cooler. I haven’t tried any overclocking, but the temps are as good as I have ever achieved with paste. The AMD does reach around 80C in stress testing, but that is because of the way the Ryzen heat is concentrated and the way it handles it’s TDP. Noting to worry about.

I like the product, I used it for my laptop’s GPU, and I’m happy with results as when I applied my V1 cooler master thermal paste I had 85 degrees and when I added this thermal pad it worked way better as I had temperature between 79 and 80 which meant I had more room for performance and temperatures were not limiting me. It was hard to cut but I used paper to cut it precisely and I’m happy with the product just amazing.I also used graphite cooling pads for cooling and using both Grizzlys and graphite I will conduct one fact,if your cooling solution for CPU or GPU is holding via 4 screws so has an rectangle pressure instead of using 3 for CPU/GPU then I would recommend Grizzlys pads as they are more effective than graphite.(I hope I explained that well)

My PS4 Pro CUH-7116’s cooling fan used to be as loud as jet engine….. I took it apart and cleaned the heat sink which was covered with multiple layers of dust. It helped a lot, but when playing graphically demanding games such as God of War, Days Gone or Horizon Zero Dawn, the fan still used to be noticeably loud…After replacing thermal compound with Thermal Grizzly Carbonaut the fan is never to be heard again…. I’ve been playing Cyberpunk 2077 and The Last of Us 2 on the highest specs for hours and I never even heard the cooling fan once….. 11 out of 10 Performance…!!!Please note that the pad has to be cut to correct size before installation also make sure that it doesn’t relocate when putting back the motherboard as this might damage your system beyond repair…..

The product is great, and it fits perfectly for Ryzen and AMD processors in general. For intel there is plenty, so if you want it for an intel CPU, better buy the 32×32 one.

Very difficult to install in a PS4, but definitely worth it. From jet engine to silent!

So I bought this knowing that it won’t cover my Ryzen CPU’s IHS and this specific dimension was meant for RTX cards. My plan is to cut it into a smaller piece to fit on my MacBook pro’s i5 CPU. It took forever to ship, but it was worth it, I used it on my own MacBook pro 13 inch 2015 retina and the performance was comparable to say, the Noctua NH-1. Yes I know I am not getting the absolute thermal solution, but the fact that it won’t dry out and it is not susceptible to cold are what really sold me. I live in Canada, sometime I have to use my laptop outside -20 C, so it is just so good knowing that my thermal performance won’t be affected in any way. Finally, obviously a laptop cpu die is way smaller, so once I did my first cut, I still have leftover, and then I immediately use the rest of them on my GTX 1060 6GB graphics card, the thermal performance is the same as my NH-1, so no complains there, and knowing that I don’t have to replace it ever, is just so worth the money.Right now I am just waiting the bigger size to get in-stock so I can apply it onto my PS4 Pro and my Ryzen.

Works better than the IC Graphite pads but you have to be extremely careful during install. It will tear easily unless you are careful.

I used this as a replacement for the thoroughly dried out thermal paste on my Xbox One X, and it’s worked fantastically. The air coming out of the back is now noticeably hotter, and the fans on my console have not once ramped up to the point of being audible like they did before during heavier games like RDR2. I did need to cut this down to size a little bit, and if you’re going to use this on a One X you’ll need to cover the exposed transistors beside the APU die with some silicone conformal coating (not clear nail polish) to make sure it doesn’t cause any shorts – but knowing that I will now NEVER need to replace the thermal compound again is really nice, and the thermal performance is excellent to boot.
