Easy Application

Thanks to its consistency, MX-2 is easy to apply, even for beginners. The video in the picture gallery demonstrates different application techniques to avoid air pockets between processors and coolers.

Extraordinary performance

ARCTIC MX-2 consists of carbon micro-particles which promises extremely high thermal conductivity. This ensures fast and efficient heat dissipation from the CPU or GPU. With its outstanding performance, the ARCTIC MX-2 is one of the top thermal conductive pastes on the market.

Safe application

ARCTIC MX-2 is a metal-free and non-electrically conductive paste. This minimises the risk of short circuits and offers perfect protection for your computer. Application is also very easy as the consistency is ideal for use on chips.

Proven quality

While the packaging of our thermal paste has changed several times over the years, the composition of the formula has remained the same. Our MX pastes have long stood for high performance and quality.

MX-2

Since the mere thermal conductivity value cannot provide any information about the actual performance, we put our MX-2 thermal grease up against a broad field of competitors under laboratory conditions. The temperature difference between CPU and cooler base was measured.

I rebuilt a couple of my home computers on the weekend, which involved changing out the processor cooling. I forgot to pick thermal compound so I ordered this online because the price was fair and it had next day shipping.Sure enough, when I got it the next day, it was exactly the same stuff I would have bought at the local computer shop. It was a couple of bucks more but it was worth it to not have to wait and then run out to the store because of the shipping. There was more than enough for the two computers. In fact there is about enough for four applications. The applicator is easy to use and is comfortable. The compound seems to be doing a good job. Both processors are running cool at idle and at load.

My temps are about the same as I had before around 60C with a good air cooler on a Ryzen 5 3600.I like the price point of this paste. Just know however that you are not getting amazing temperature changing performance, you would have to go more up market for that.Pros:1. I like that it is non conductive.2. I like the value for money.3. I like that the lifespan is 8 years on this paste.ConsNone.

It worked as advertised, more than enough to complete the job.It performed as advertised. There was more than enough for me to complete the job. I used it to install a new Pelltier thermoelectric module in my Koolatron portable ice box.

Easy to apply and after installation it lowered my idle temps by 15 degrees, basically down to ambient room temperature. When I fist turned on the PC I wondered if my cooler was working, it was so quiet! My only complaint is, I have enough paste for probably 5 or 6 applications and I don’t expect to need it any time soon. Great product!

The MX-2 and its higher end sibling the MX-4 are my favorite Thermal Pastes. It’s not that they’re the top performers but rather that they perform similarly to the top performers all the while costing less and coming in larger quantities.I absolutely love this Thermal Paste. Highly recommend.Uses that I’ve used it on include CPUs and CPUs. Under both air cooling as well as watercooling scenarios.

My first purchase of this type so I don’t have anything negative to say about it. Does the job although I may move away from paste in the future instead favoring sheets just to avoid the cleaning and need to change the paste over a period of time.

Keeps my CPU safer from heat. I’m not an expert in thermal paste brands, but my temperatures don’t go much higher than 75C (at max utilization) with this paste. Can hit as low as 25C when my room is cold enoughKeep in mind I’m using a Deepcool Gammaxx 400 cpu cooler and not a stock cpu cooler

I had issues with my CPU overheating and causing BSODs but both have gone away after applying this thermal paste alone. My one issue is that it doesn’t spread as easily as previous liquid pastes. I had to take off my heatsink and manually spread it cause it wasn’t covering the whole area. It’s also sticky so if you’re not careful when you remove your heatsink or spreading tool, you might pull thermal paste onto your motherboard.

I always keep some MX-2 on hand for use with heatsinks. For a stronger bond, but one I don’t want to be 100% permanently stuck, I combine MX-2 with some Arctic Silver/Alumina thermal adhesive (epoxy) and it helps heat transfer while reducing the bond that would normally be permanent once the epoxy has cured. The more the MX-2, the lower the strength. Much better than many other alternative substances for weakening the bond and keeps the thermal properties, if not makes them better.I usually use the MX-2 + Silver/Alumina Adhesive combo for mounting LEDs or other things I want to cool and hold itself to the heatsink, but don’t feel that thermal tape would be suitable.

This was amazing for my system. The gpu fan bearings on my MSi gaming laptop went out on me so I needed to replace the fan. In order to replace the fan I needed to remove the entire cpu and gpu heatsink. I figured if I had to do that I may as well do a thermal re-pasting. I know nothing about thermal paste other than what I read online and can’t comment on the thickness or ease of spread compared to other compounds so take what I say with a grain of salt. All I know is that my system on idle was hovering around 40°C with the cpu fan spinning at around 4000rpm. Since the re-pasting my idle temp and fan speed have dropped to 25°C and under 3000rpm. There wasn’t much dust in my fan because I usually do a dust blow out every month so this was almost entirely related to the Arctic MX-2. I knew I would see some improvement but I wasn’t expecting the type of drops I’m seeing. I can’t imagine getting better performance from something else for my use case.I had no issues with the application process because of the syringe style tube and everything was pretty straight forward. I have no idea how this would stack up for overclocking but if you’re an avg user like me who isn’t overclocking and looking for something to replace your factory paste I can highly recommend the Arctic MX.2.

this arrived after my cpu, so i ended up using the stock paste that came with my cooler, when i replaced it i was shocked at how good this non-metalic alternative is. my idle tempatures dropped to basically ambient( lowest possible without liquid nitrogen), and i could even overclock furthur than originally ( 4.6ghz/1.33v stable on 6600k ~75C up to 4.8ghz/1.42v with similar temps topping out at 77) on the stock paste hitting 4.8 ghz would send temps over 95 and crash the stystem so good Thermal compound here

BIG BOI SIZEMakes you feel inadequate 😉 Same performance level as MX4 but much cheaper. I build a lot of gaming systems so this is perfect. If you’re just building low power office PCs I’d probably just get the generic paste over this though.

Works goodLow viscosity -good. Allows clamps to spread paste and allow cpu to heatsink contact. The best heat conduction is perfectly flat metal surfaces clamped together. The past just fills areas where the non perfectively flat areas are.

Good thermal paste, wish there was more thoughThe quality of the paste is great- used it for my AMD Ryzen 7 3700X and for anyone using that processor they would agree that this processor heats up quite a bit! The only downside would be that you can only probably use this thermal paster for a few cpus (provided you use the rice method when you apply your thermal paste) with the minimal amount of paste there is in the tube.

Does what any good thermal compound does. What can I say, it works pretty great as one would expect from a product by ARCTIC.The package was sealed and from opening the box to applying it to my CPU, everything went smoothly and my computer is up and running. Im happy with it and would buy again.

Temperature increased…I’m not being too harsh. It’s just weird that after I replaced the old paste by this product the temperature raised by 5 degrees….. It might be on my side. But anyway I’m not happy with this product.
