---|---|---|---|
Easy ApplicationThanks to its consistency, MX-4 is easy to apply. The video below demonstrates different application techniques to avoid air pockets between processors and coolers. |
Extraordinary performanceARCTIC MX-4 consists of carbon micro-particles that promote extremely high thermal conductivity. As a result, this ensures fast and efficient heat dissipation from the CPU or GPU. ARCTIC MX-4 is one of the top thermal conductive pastes on the market. |
Safe applicationARCTIC MX-4 is a metal-free and non-electrically conductive paste. Therefore minimizing the risk of short circuits. |
Proven qualityWhile the packaging of our thermal paste has changed several times over the years, the composition of the formula has remained the same. MX pastes have long stood for high performance and quality. |
Because one cannot only rely on the thermal conductivity value of the paste, ARCTIC MX-4 was tested against a broad field of competitors under laboratory conditions. The chart above shows the temperature difference between CPU and cooler base for various competitors. Compared to metal and silicon-based thermal compounds, the MX-4 does not compromise over time.

Solved my overheating issueMy CPU (10 yrs old) started overheating frequently (hitting 90C+) when playing games and I figured out it was because the old thermal paste was dried up. Bought this product, and although I had to reapply it 3 times due to user error, my CPU now almost never goes above 50C. Excellent product!

Solved alot of the heating issues with my PCThe pre-applied thermal paste on my water cooler and GPU was absolute trash. After I applied with the MX-4 to my computer, I Saved over 10 degrees celcius in my rather small tower. Well worth the investment to re-apply paste to your computer. Learned alot about the insides of my computer and the temp savings help with Overclocking.

got it just in caseand it came in handy. I used it when I swapped my heatsink on my PC, I originally thought it was 5g but the syringe says it’s 4g. Easy to apply, but very easy to lose it, it took me quite some time to locate it. I didn’t notice a drastic drop in prices even with a new and stronger heatsink.

Easy to useIf you need to replace or reset your CPU fan, you will find the old compound is dry and cannot be reused. The syringe applicator on this makes it easy to use and the CPU temperature is normal showing good heat transfer.

not as good as advertisedThe company has not given a specification for this product. Only, that this is a super-duper new 2019 year.I accidentally found out that this thermal grease has the smallest coefficient of thermal conductivity and a funny working temperature of 75 degrees. But my problem is that for the customer I processed a hotend for 3D printer with a working temperature of 260 degrees. Now I need to urgently recall the product and redo everything for my money, until he fires the house.

Fantastic qualityThis stuff is fantastic. Used it on every PC I have ever built, fixed my brother in-law’s 10 year old computer’s CPU’s temps by applying this paste and blowing out the fan. Even on Intel’s OEM coolers I have wiped off the garbage that comes pre applied and used this. Fantastic quality and you get enough to last you for many builds (if you don’t lose it every year). My only small complaint is this stuff can be a bit stringy when applying it, but that’s hardly a concern since it’s non-conducting.

Easy to apply. Good valueThis tube will last me forever, whenever I need to change CPU coolers or reapply paste.Lots of video’s out there showing how best to apply, and it is easy peasy. A little dab will do ya.Arctic is a top brand. Quick delivery which was needed and appreciated.

Yup, it is even better than beforeEvery laptop I re-sell is getting the treatment of new thermal paste, it is good business practice and a selling point. Customers are actually asking what thermal paste I use and I am proud to say that I have used MX-4 since I started my repair and resell business.

No complaints; works as-is!I built my first PC a month ago and this was my first time applying thermal paste. This paste was recommended to me by a friend who has been building PCs for many years and the product worked as advertised. Application from the tube is fine although the excess tends to stretch/spill out and you have to just be careful it doesn’t drip anywhere else after.

2019 ProductThe box said 2019 on it – hopefully it doesn’t affect the quality. I used it on my Xbox one, seemed to be ok. It didn’t fix my issue of shutting off randomly however, I think it’s a software issue of warzone; it’s the only game that does it.

It’s great pasteIt’s pretty good stuff. It dropped my temp only about 3 degrees. Come in a clean and neat ziploc style bag with company logo and whatnot. Only reason I only give 4 star is because on your first use, be careful. I took the cap off and it came oozing out a bit. Syringe maybe got pressed during transit or something. Other then that great product.

It works! My PS4 died (out of warranty) so I took it apart cleaned it and freshened some solder and I needed thermal paste to put it back together! PS4 is still working great a year later! Never used thermal paste before this but it spread nicely wasn’t too sticky or goopy or thin, would recommend!

Excellent paste in a fragile syringeAfter replacing the crusty OEM thermal paste in my laptop, I dropped about 10C off idling temperature right away. So at the very least, we can say this is significantly better than OEM pastes. However I do have a gripe with this product and it’s the syringe it comes in, it is VERY fragile, I dropped it when I was trying to open the tear-open packaging, the syringe dropped onto the ground and the nozzle just snapped clean off. While I am still able to apply the paste with the residue nub, perhaps a more flexible material can be used for the syringe in the future.

Great for the priceOrdered mine for use with my PS3. Seems to get the job done, certainly feels like the fans are running quieter since the chips don’t get as hot. Great value for the money, I even have some left for future repairs.FYI Mine came in different packaging from what was pictured, (in like a plastic bag) and didn’t come with the little spatula. Still the same product on the inside though. Not sure why that happened but it seems like I’m not the only one judging by the other reviews.

Rebuilt a HP elitebook laptop. We have a laptop suffering of overheating issues so i cleaned it and rebuilt it using this Arctic paste, so far so good. I have used this brand on multiple self built PC also and have never had an issue. As with all Thermal paste : do not unload it like crazy, you do not need much, it spreads nicely when clamping in the processor.

Excellent PasteApplied to my new MSI-Gl65 laptop as CPU temps were reaching 93C while just installing assassin’s creed (yes just installing the game) something wasn’t right. I disassembled the laptop found that stock paste had been applied by the pound, I cleaned it all off applied MX-4 (sparingly, remember a little goes a long way) and now I can install the same game without the CPU going over 80C. It has decreased my temps by and average of 7-10C. highly recommend. This product i ordered did come with a spreader.

IT DOESN”T COOL A COMPONENT THAT HEATS BEYOND 70CI used it for my “Nitro 5 AN515-53” Gaming Laptop & it was able to cool the GPU but with the CPU, it DIDIN”T work at all. Max temperatures for CPU were 99C & idling at 71C & that made me think that I did something wrong. I opened the Gaming Laptop 5 times & reapplied it 5 different ways. Non worked for CPU but it did work for the GPU (it’s because the GPU does NOT heat as much as the CPU). That being said, I made the conclusion that the thermal paste was not good enough so I went on to purchase “Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut” & it fixed the overheating issue of the CPU & GPU.Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut:CPU MAX Temperature: 79CGPU MAX Temperature: 49CI recommended Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut to all of my friends on Steam. It actually surpassed my expectations.

Great thermal paste, good priceThe packaging is kind of scammy, with a cash giveaway, but the product is the good point here.GN video states that thermal compound is not much different between most brands, and high-end stuff like the Noctua compound is only a few degrees better than this stuff, so I gave it a go, and at a fraction of the price, it works well.Having great temps on a 2700X connected to a Kraken X63, and still had plenty in the tube to repaste a laptop and a GPU.

Really didn’t seem to make a differenceGot this my my XPS 15 9560, 3 years old. It’s been overheating and very slow now days. I can’t seem to run any games without a fan on. I used to be able to run big games like NBA 2K on it with no problems and League would be smooth. Now days, I have all the power settings set to highest performance with fans on which seems to be a bit better, but the laptop will continue to overheat and lag from just watching videos and having multiple tabs open on google chrome. So unfortunately, this product didn’t really seem to help as much as I intended it to.

Very good value!I bought this to replace the stock thermal paste on a relatively new laptop (MSI GE75 Raider) in an attempt to get better temperatures. I’m happy to report that while measuring temperatures while running Folding@Home on all CPU and GPU cores, my temperatures dropped from 90-95°C down to 82-86°C on the CPU, and 74-76°C down to 69-72°C on the GPU. After seeing good results there, I replaced the pre-applied thermal paste on my desktop AIO cooler and saw a similar 5-7°C drop in peak temperatures. The thermal paste itself seems quite thin compared to other pastes I’ve used in the past. This makes it very easy to spread or squeeze out from between components. Hopefully it lives up to the claim of being good for 8 years.Although I like the minimalist packaging, I do wish they’d tone down the marketing hype. Covering every package with contests and old awards seems like they’re trying to bait people into buying their product. Thankfully, the package doesn’t include the dubious claim from their website that it’s “better than liquid metal”. Arctic, please, just let the product stand on it’s own reputation and the review results. In conclusion, I highly recommend Arctic MX-4. It may not be the absolute best thermal paste on the market, but right now it’s sitting in a very good spot, price-to-performance wise. The few pastes out there that should outperform it come with a considerably higher price tag.

Cools CPU and GPU but one problem..These are excellent paste by Arctic but unfortunately, placing big sticker saying, “win 1000 USD every month!” is just to get people to buy their products which isn’t good idea when no one actually wins from it. I think it’s fake but the paste cools my CPU and GPU alot better now. I recommend these but avoid buying the ones with win these “gimmicky” contests stickers or labels in the front.

Laptop will pump out after few daysI have a laptop with RTX 2080 and 8750H and I used NT-H1 before, it runs at 95 degree after few week. I repaste with Mx4 and the first 2 days was able to do a good job with average 80 to 85 degrees on CPU with no thermal throttle, however, today when I play the same game, the throttling happens again. The last NT-H1 I found out that there is a pump out effect because the CPU was too smooth to be holding the paste. I am already guessing the pump out effect already happening again with the MX4…. the Rtx-2080 is at low temp tho. which is very very good…

It’s thermal pasteIt’s thermal paste what can I say there isn’t much to it. it was a million times better than the 8 year old stuff that was on the cpu/heatsink so for me it was good enough. had a good consistency not to thin and not too thick, so that was appreciated and it came with enough in the syringe to properly coat 3-4 older cpus.

Massive temperature drop! This stuff is great! My laptop i5(4300u) was at running about 52c watching Youtube, now it runs at 41c. That was the previous idle temp for my laptop!! Can’t wait to use this compound my GTX970, would highly recommend.

Highly recommendedI ordered this product because I am in the middle of upgrading/refurbing all my family’s laptops, as well as building my own PC. I have to say I’m beyond impressed with the thermals I’m getting in all the computers I’ve put this product in so far, definitely a huge improvement. I have regularly seen a ten degree drop on average (usually more), both idle and under load. Mind you, the laptops haven’t been cleaned and had their thermal paste redone in several years, so my results are more drastic than most, but great product nonetheless. Comes with a spreader (but you’re probably better off not using it to be honest), arrived before initial ETA. Highly recommend!

Super!

this thinner formulation is easier to apply and better for heat transferI prefer to use as little heat sink paste as possible. The best thermal transfer occurs from direct contact with the heat sink, but since there are small variances in the smoothness of the heatsink contact surface (but likely not the processor so much), there are also voids — even after polishing the surface of the heatsink and cleaning the mating parts. Since any thermal paste has thermal resistance you only want to fill the voids and have as little paste in contact with the mating sections of the parts as possible. This is where the thinner formulation of MX-4 helps. It can squish out the way of the mating sections more easily and give you better overall heat transfer.
